The Team
The Freevalve team is staffed by about 20 very skilled individuals and growing, whereof about a third within Control Systems. At Freevalve, we do everything ourselves – from the software and electronics to the very mechanics and mechanical design.
Job Description:
As an Application Engineer in the Control Systems team, you will work with applying the control system to test equipment and engines, utilizing the full capabilities of the Freevalve system. This role works close to our customers, both on-site and remotely from our facilities. It means implementation of high level customer specific functionality, as well as being the control system specialist during testing.
Responsibilities:
Programming real-time embedded systems in C/C++ and testing the code in the lab and in real engines
Setting up engines in test cells/vehicles and troubleshooting the system
Utilize ATI Vision software interfaces to control system inputs and outputs
Create and maintain structured data acquisition methods
Create documentation around test setup, procedure and test results with conclusions based off expected behavior and any deviations
Communicate directly with third parties to deliver test data for development support
Assist in customer delivery programs and occasional on-site support
Plan, construct, test and evaluate embedded electronic circuits and systems
This job will require travel for longer periods of time when supporting engine dyno/vehicle testing at the customer site, up to 50 days per year

Basic Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Mechatronics, electronics, software, etc.)
3-5 years of experience in real-time embedded systems development
Experience in C/C++
Hands-on experience with electronics
Experience with ATI Vision or similar
Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines
Thrive with large degrees of freedom, responsibility, and accountability

Fluent in English with strong communication skills

Requirements
To suceed in this positioon we believe that you must possesss the following skills:
Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Electronics, software, computer, etc.)
Relevant experience in complete PCBA development process; taking a design from customer requirement through PCBA design phase to manufacturing and manufacturing support
Experience in PCB manufacturing
Relevant experience in mechatronic designs
Good understanding of EMC requirements and how to apply them in hardware design
Good component knowledge, with ability to make suitable selections for a demanding environment
Experience with Altium CAD tool, or equivalent

Experience & Knowledge
