Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the design and development of transmission and drivetrain components & solutions. This will include all development phases from conceptual design to end of production, and will require close collaboration with all parts of the organization, including but not limited to; Prototype, Testing, Procurement, Production, Quality, CAE and Homologation departments.

You will:

- Design mechanical systems & solutions with emphasis on performance and quality using a ‘first principles’ approach
- Generate 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings using Catia V6 / 3DExperience
- Design and facilitate tests to verify component function and that requirements are met
- Carry out data analysis to perform root cause analysis, promote reliability and improve performance
- Assist in selecting and interacting with suppliers and technology providers to ensure quality and performance targets are met
- Work closely with the Prototype dept. during concept validation phase
- Provide technical support leading to successful introduction of components and systems into and throughout production
Requirements:


- 4+ years of experience in engineering design for Automotive/Aerospace or similar industries.
- Deep understanding of rotating assembly design and behavior
- Advanced CAD capabilities (CATIA V5/V6 or 3DEXPERIENCE)
- Solid FEA knowledge
- GD&T design and application
- Design components for state-of-the-art manufacturing methods

Meritorious experience:

We are now looking to expand the team with skilled and experienced electrical harness engineers with the ability to transform product requirements and production needs to state of the art solutions and to also further advance the electrical architecture in our cars.

The responsibilities associated with this position put a strong requirement on your ability to cooperate with other departments in other technical domains. The development activities are primarily focused on electrical harness schematics and electrical architecture for our cars.

Responsibilities

- Taking ownership of the electrical system schematics of the vehicle (harness schematics)
- Design and create Harness schematics, wiring diagrams, BOM, cables list, connectors,...
- Work closely with mechanical, prototype and manufacturing engineers in the integration of harness and electrical components
- Work with purchasing department and external suppliers for components sourcing
- Experience developing system schematics, wiring diagrams and electrical systems.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing aspects of wireless harness design both electrical and mechanical.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues in bench and prototype vehicles


- Ability to translate wire harness requirements to schematics and wire list data
- Proven experience with physical wire harness architectural design
- Familiarity with software design and software systems
- Experience drawing schematics and wire list data for wire harness
- Experience working with manufacturing methods, fabrication or assembly processes

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
B.S. in Engineering with a minimum 8+ years of relevant experience required
2+ years of demonstrated experience developing and implementing electric vehicle requirements and/or validation
Experience managing and leading teams through validation and development of drivelines, eAxles or similar applications.
Application and experience in root cause analysis and the methods/tools to solve problems
Understanding and experience in the application and failure analysis of: gears, bearings, shafts, electric motors, and other driveline components.
Full understanding of system level powertrain DV and PV testing and the test methodology for developing a validation plan to meet reliability and confidence values.
Experience with vendors providing full service testing and/or dynamometer and dynamometer-related equipment
Fundamental understanding of electric powertrains
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
