Job Summary

Technical point person for virtual vehicle simulation models. Accountable for the development and validation of new vehicle models and ensuring that the vehicle dynamics characteristics match test vehicle data. Employee will work closely with the Track test team and the Product lines to ensure the vehicle systems are properly specified, meeting key deliverables, and achieving industry leading standards. In addition, responsibilities includes optimizing megacar designs and setup configurations for on-track vehicle performance gains, using predictive simulation technologies. Analyze data, and report findings to the track team and clients, from HIL, DIL, vehicle simulator, and real-world testing.

Tasks


- Creation and execution of numerous tests and test methodologies for accurate results

- Communicate and coordinate with people from multiple divisions such as design engineers, CFD engineers, and FEA engineers to comply with all the requirements and provide inputs for improvement

- Provide inputs and suggestions for design and performance improvements

- Analysis of on-vehicle racing car data (logged data, telemetry, etc.).

- Offline lap simulation

- Dynamic parametric models

- Multi-body models

- Work with the Engineering and Quality team for root cause analysis activities and document lessons learned

Skill Requirements

Requirements includes Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3 years of configuration, operation, and validation of vehicle dynamics simulation software. Familiar with systematic design of experiments. Technical knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles and chassis systems: aerodynamics, suspension, tires, etc. Expert understanding of limit-handling vehicle dynamics principles, and their practical application. Practical Experience with racing car set-up problems and methodologies is appreciated.


- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle dynamics, or equivalent required

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

- High level of people skills, able to work in a team environment required

Responsibilities

Being part of the Exterior team, your duties include close collaboration with our design department to ensure top quality engineering of structural design of chassis components as well as exterior body structure and panels.

Your main tasks include working with V6 Part design, Assembly design and GSD workbenches by generating 3D models, assemblies, lay-ups and 2D drawings. You will be involved throughout the whole product life cycle by supporting the release of your design into production using 3DX PLM.
Need to have

- Genuine passion for hypercars and thorough knowledge of carbon fibre composite design and manufacturing methods.
- Self driven, confident and striving to make the impossible become possible.
- B.Sc or M.Sc in Mechanical/Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or similar work experience.
- 5+ years of experience with CATIA V5 or V6 within Part Design, Assembly design, GSD and Composite workbenches.
- Experience with design concepts in composite materials that solve challenging crash load cases while balancing construction, material and manufacturing methods.
- Experience with design for lay-ups, tool design and additive manufacturing.
- Practical experience of working with composites, tools and machinery.
- Experience with assemblies, multi-model links, design in context.
- Experience with product and process validation.
- Minimum 3 years experience applying GD&T.
- Involvement at DFM, tooling and part realisation stages of project.
- Experience with PLM system. 3DX is a plus.
- FEA or CFD experience is a plus.
- Metrology experience is a plus.
- Professional level of English.

As a senior aerodynamic surface design engineer you will work collaboratively alongside other skilled designers and aerodynamicists to generate new surface concepts. You will also be involved in utilising parametric modelling techniques to enable rapid aerodynamic concept development and to generate stable surface models to the very highest standard. As a valued member of our Aerodynamics Department, your ideas and skills will make a tangible contribution to the Team.

Responsibilities:

- Creating CAD surfaces for new aerodynamic concepts, working closely with our aerodynamicists, designers and stylists.
- Preparing geometries for CFD.
- Maintaining our CFD surface models.
- Developing our capability, methodology and processes, e.g the next generation of CAD tools.
- Mentoring junior members within the team.

Need to have:

- Experience in a professional surfacing role, for example in Motorsport, or automotive engineering.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, engineering environment.

Skilled in using a high-end CAD package for surfacing. We use Catia 3DX, but candidates with experience of surfacing in other packages are also welcome.

Mechanical Engineer - Product Improvement

THE ROLE
As a mechanical engineer you will be responsible for design and development of robust, proven, and reliable products utilizing the latest automotive technologies. The role requires knowledge of technologies used in automotive. Mechanical engineer will collaborate closely with production, aftermarket, prototype, quality, ME, electrical, as well as CAE, and homologation department. You will:
Generate 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings using Catia V5/V6.
Support the release of product into production (PLM).
Work closely with Prototype, Production, Aftermarket department
Organize and carry out tests to verify component function and requirement
Technical support leading to successful introduction into production
Prepare service kits and Service actions
Interaction with suppliers and technology providers
 
REQUIREMENTS
R&D Experience in development and prototyping– (minimum 6 years) ideally with cutting edge technologies
Design experience with CATIA V5/V6 (minimum 3 years)
Experience in development solution for production (minimum 2 years)
Expertise in technologies used in automotive
Knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with assembling, multi-model links, design in context
Experience with PLM system
Understanding of prototyping, production technologies, and validation procedures
Experience with design of sheet metal and machining parts
Experience with plastic injection technology and tool design
Professional level of English
